Tropical destinations and Tenerife holidays for a great tan at any time of year

The Philippines, being located in the tropics, is one possibility for sun worshippers who are interested in a beach holiday far from home. Southeast Asia has a wide variety of countries, each with their own culture and cuisine that has made it a favourite area to visit for tourists from the West over the years. More competitive airfares in the last couple of decades have made it more attractive. When you only have a week to spare it is probably more sensible to look closer to home however and the Canary Islands boast year round sunshine as well as beautiful beaches and an exciting nightlife.

There are a number of islands in this group from which to choose and judging by the number of visitors, Tenerife holidays continue to be very popular with British tourists. If you do not mind long haul flights then the island of Boracay in the Philippines has a pace of life that will soon soothe your nerves and calm your mind. Beautiful beaches fringed with coconut trees and clear waters teeming with tropical fish make it a great place to scuba dive. The Canary Islands are only about 4 hours from London by plane and so are more convenient for people who cannot stand the idea of spending half a day in the air. Owing to their proximity to Africa the climate is very mild even in the depths of winter. Being geared to foreign visitors it is easy to get by speaking only English.
